Easter Fun from The Book Mums

Excuse me.  Haven’t the kids just gone back to school?  This surely has to be the shortest term known to man?

It’s not the schools’ fault they have to break up on Thurs 28th:  It’s Good Friday on the 29th.  So the actual “Easter” part of the Easter hols is right at the very start this year?

Right then ..better get sorted!

Ideal for entertaining children over the Easter holidays:

Easter Titles from The Book Mums

We are offering this delightful set of Easter books, for just £9.99 (RRP £14.97)

Featuring lots of ideas for fun activities and yummy dishes, plus stickers galore (which little ones will love), the Easter set makes a great alternative gift to chocolate eggs.  The sticker book can be used straight away but the activity and cooking book will be used every year.

Enough with the rabbits, chicks and eggs … what about Jesus?

Feb 29th – Your “Extra Day”

School Reports come out next week,(parent consultation time!) then it’s World Book Day, St Patrick’s Day, Mothering Sunday, the clocks go forward and suddenly it’s the Easter Holidays again.

This does not include birthdays, kids’ parties and helping your kids to learn.

When we bought our new 2012 diary and calendar, we filled-in all those blank pages with neat writing in a nice pen.  Some of us Organised Mums even like different colours and little stickers!

It’s about this time of the year, we are frantically scribbling on the calendar with an eyeliner and there is a lot of crossing-out and re-writing going on in that once-pretty diary.

Where ARE those stickers anyway?

Take a breath … this can all be solved more easily than you would think.

  1. Find a morning (or evening if that’s more convenient) and invite some pals over.  (Sounds counter-intuitive right?  Why would I want to tidy-up and bleach the bog when I have so much to do?  Bear with me …)
  2. Tidy ONE room (by kicking everything into the cupboard under the stairs) bleach the loo and buy some biscuits.
  3. Invite your pals over for an hour and make sure you all bring your diaries. (Someone has to know when it’s Sports Day – right?)
  4.  Invite The Book Mums and your friendlly neighbourhood Phoenix Trader over and get it sorted!
  5. Enjoy your new found Domestic Goddess status with a card and gift ready for every occasion.

If you are still feeling like that would only cross one thing off your list, check out www.FlyLady.net for some great daily inspiration to get back on track.  The habit for February is to de-clutter for 15 mins a day.  As she is fond of saying:

“your clutter came into the home one bag at a time, and that is the way it is going to leave!”
