Learning Differences

I am starting a “movement”.   I am hoping you will join me?

The media surrounding literacy and learning makes for very depressing reading.  In Victorian times, when we were readying urchins for the factory, the current system had it’s merits. In the 21st century it does not.  This does not even touch on special kids who learn differently.

There are brilliant people, all around the world who know the answers.  Let’s get them all in one spot and change the world, before our kids have kids.

Who is with me?

Take a look if you believe the education system needs more flexibility to cater for kids who have different levels of learning ability http://www.facebook.com/LearningDifferences

    Hi Lisa
I am doing the 30 challenge. So far not done blog – I will just have to do it myself with difficulty.
My son 12years old just started high school and loving it from the point of challenging his mind – his is a Einstein fan too. He is struggling with literacy and keeping up with homework. We were sent a letter inviting him one to one tuition to help him, however this is contra-productive as his says – he will have to miss some lessons especially Art which is is good at to attend this one to one. He therefore has to miss out on lessons which he then has to catch up on so as he says will cause more frustration in catching up. He was diagnosed with dyslexia at age 10 1/2.
    Any comments gratefully received.

You see this a lot don’t you? Downgrading artistic subjects in favour of “remedial” tuition in subjects that don’t fire kids up! I guess it comes down to finances really. There are lots of tuition companies and courseshe can do outside of school hours that I could recommend.
